Portuguese Regions where Olive Oil is Produced
Portugal is a small country in Europe, with 10M people and located in the weastern part of Europe. We have sun pretty much all year. Olive Oil is produced all over the country, but special regions have been created to actually protect and evolve special olive plantations that produce our finnest oils.
In Portugal there are five (5) special regions to produce olive oil. These regions are called “DOC – Denominação de Origem Controlada“. These are regions that are specific geographies that follow production rules established by law. This will assure the products out of DOC are in compliance with the highest quality standards and processes until consumers.
